Premature ejaculation as bodily symptom of stress

PREMATURE EJACULATION AS BODILY SYMPTOM OF STRESS

«Sex used to be so good. Really good. Would keep the erection. Take our time. Wonderful. And she was always satisfied. Now, that has all gone. Come too quickly. Just can't help it. Try what I can, just can't help it. Too quick. She's not satisfied. Gets restless. I feel like a fool.
'I used to be a relaxed person. Now with these problems at work, I am quite tense and jittery. Has that got something to do with it? »
It is the same problem. Stress increases the reactivity of the nerve cells, and they discharge too quickly, causing the muscles concerned to contract.
There are often both physical and mental components to the reaction. A minimal physical stimulus on the penis may activate the nerves, so that ejaculation occurs immediately on penetration in a way which would not normally happen. On the other hand, in severe cases, the reaction may be precipitated simply by the psychological nervous tension of the situation, so that ejaculation may even occur before there has been any penetration at all, or even physical contact with the penis.
All our stress reactions are affected, either for better or for worse, by those around us. Premature ejaculation is very much affected in this way. If his partner reacts badly by showing her disappointment, or even her disgust or contempt at the situation, his level of anxiety will be so much the higher at the next occasion, and the likelihood of a repeat performance is increased.
